Microwaves

Neglecting this chore even for a short while can really show, so give your microwave a good cleaning without heavy scrubbing or harsh chemicals. In a microwave safe bowl, pour equal parts vinegar and water. Microwave for 5 minutes, and then wait till the bowl is cool enough to handle. Remove the bowl, and then wipe down the inside with a damp cloth. Voila! S

Air vents

There’s nothing glamorous about cleaning air vents, but this is absolutely one area you don’t want to skimp on. The air quality in your home is directly affected by it, after all. If you’re short on time and don’t want to completely remove the vent cover, here’s a low maintenance hack.

Grab a butter knife and wrap a damp, thin cloth around the end. Swipe in between each slat, and they’ll look like new.

Windows

We’re guessing it’s not your favorite chore, but sparkling windows change the way light enters your room, and after months of little sunshine, you’re probably craving all the light you can get. If you’ve ever cleaned windows with a paper towel and been less than impressed, try using newspaper instead. Tiny bits of lint won’t be left behind and you’ll have a beautiful streak-free shine.

Sponges

They may be small, but kitchen sponges do tons of work. When used in the kitchen, they can house an incredible amount of bacteria, so don’t forget they need cleaning, too. For a super fast steam clean, microwave your wet sponge for 30 seconds or run it through the dishwasher.

Miscellaneous Gunk and Grime

Clean everything from your faucets to tv screens with a dryer sheet. A few quick swipes can loosen and get rid of things like hard water stains, soap scum, or food residue.

Time to Tidy

Spring cleaning doesn’t have to mean buying expensive cleaning products. Use these hacks and enjoy a cleaner home fast without sacrificing an entire weekend or your budget.
