How to Host a Springtime Housewarming Party

Tips From Our Moversspring housewarming

After the moving company leaves and the moving boxes are all unpacked, it’s time to get back into the business of enjoying all things home. And if you’ve gone through a local move or relocated to a new city where you know a few friends (or even better, the neighbors), this might be a good time to throw a little housewarming soiree and show off the new digs.

Springtime is the perfect time of year for that, in part since it’s the beginning of peak moving season, but also because it’s a time where people still want to get together, right before everyone gets busy with their summer vacation plans.

We’ve got a plethora of easy-to-do ideas, to help you host the best springtime housewarming party:

  1. Plan a festive theme to incorporate all of the décor and food together. A few to try: wine tasting, beach party, or a Hollywood movie night.

  1. Consider catering or ordering from a deli. Ideally, this will help save you time and allow you to focus on your guests and new friends. The food doesn’t have to be expensive to be delicious. You could also ask guests to BYOB (bring your own beverage), or come with a prepared dish to share.

  1. Try to incorporate an activity or two. Help break up the party time and give guests a meaningful way to get to know you better, or interact more with each other.

  1. Think about how you’ll be entertaining kiddos, if they’re invited. A bounce house or a party game host could be one way to give parents an easy place to get their children moving during a portion of the party.

  1. Consider the furniture needs. Some people want to wait until all of their new furniture has been moved in or is shipped and settled. Others prefer to make the party happen before that takes place, just to prevent any spills or accidents on the new investment. Decide what’s best for you, and then get the party started.
