Holiday Festivities to Enjoy in Miami

For all the beautiful surroundings in Miami, it isn’t exactly the most “Christmassy” city. Instead of snow you have sandy beaches and the instead of towering pine trees there are palm trees. If relocating to Miami leaves you feeling a little homesick this holiday season, here are some festive activities to help you get into the holiday spirit.

 

Zoo LIghts | Zoo Miami | December 20-30th, 7-10 p.m.

For only five dollars you and your family can see a spectacular display of animal shaped lights and thousands of twinkling strands of light throughout the zoo. You can take your picture with Santa, try you luck with ice-skating, and enjoy some hot chocolate and cookies. You can even do some Christmas shopping and pick up your favorite animal lovers some Zoo Miami gear.

 

Deering Holiday Wonderland | Deering Estate at Cutler | December 1-31st, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

If you’re a fan of the sciences and history, the Deering Estate at Cutler is your destination. Deering Estate at Cutler is an environmental, archeological, and historical preserve and during the holiday times they decorate the ground tastefully and beautifully. Come see the Deering Holiday Wonderland that is created by local garden clubs and other community organizations.

 

Holiday Music at Fairchild | Fairchild Botanical Garden | December 8th, 6-10 p.m.

Holiday Music at Fairchild is celebrating their 20th year of seasonal music in the scenic, breathtaking backdrop of the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden. Guests will enjoy a fine dining experience under the stars including dessert after the holiday program. This event would be a tradition you couldn’t forget.
