If you’re considering a move to Atlanta, you may not even know where to begin. It’s a large city, for sure, and there are a lot of good areas to choose from. If you’re looking for an urban neighborhood, here’s a small compilation of places to start looking.
If you’ve got any hip or artsy tendencies, you may want to check out Inman Park. But the record shops and bohemian stores aren’t the only cool thing. The beautiful early-1900’s homes, many of which have been renovated, are enjoyed throughout Inman Park. Many of these homes were built as a part of “Atlanta’s first suburb.” So if you’re looking for that nostalgia, don’t skip over Inman Park.
Grant Park
If you’re more of the family type, look into Grant Park. This neighborhood has plenty of attractions nearby, including the Atlanta Zoo and the Civil War Museum. But it’s also not “suburby.” Grant Park boasts plenty of great restaurants, micro-breweries, and has walking paths to get around a little without always using the car.
Summerhill
Much like Grant Park, Summerhill residents enjoy the feel of Summerhill, which is less than ten blocks from loads of Atlanta hot spots. Turner Field, Centennial Olympic Park, and Cyclorama are all nearby. Get the highlights of downtown combined with the comforts of suburban living.
