What to Pack When Moving to Kansas City

When planning a move to Kansas City, you will be calling your Kansas City mover to help get you there. As you pack up your belongings, be sure to pack the right things!

  1. Pack concert tickets. Kansas City has the new Sprint Center, a $276 million facility that is the region’s premiere venue. They host more than 100 events a year, from concerts, to family shows, special events, and collegiate, professional, and amateur sports. You’ll be sure to find your favorite musician or team here at the Center.
  2. Pack Civil War history books. Kansas will be paying tribute its role in the Civil War 150 years ago as they celebrate the sesquicentennial this year. Kansas was a hot bed of action in the “west” during the Civil War. In 1861 Kansas entered the Union as a free state, making it a center for debate and fighting. All year they will be reflecting on their history and its effect on the Kansas City area.
  3. Pack your camera. You’ll have lots to photograph at Powell Gardens, a private not-for-profit botanical garden. Powell Gardens boasts 915 acres of hills and meadows, display gardens, interesting architecture, a nature trail, and a year-round calendar of events and classes. A centerpiece is the Fountain Garden, where there is an interactive fountain where kids can jump in and cool off.
  4. Pack your swimsuit. You’ll need it at the CoCo Key Water Resort, inspired by historic Key West. Stay for the night or play all day at this 55,000 square foot park. There are water slides, a “dip-in” theater, Adventure River, indoor/outdoor spa, interactive play island, lounge, and private rent-able poolside cabanas.
