Thousands of people turn to Beltmann of Chicago for their moving needs every year. However, moving is only a part of the bigger Beltmann picture. We are a proud agent for North American Van Lines and use our moving trucks to help transport countless items donated to Habitat for Humanity to their ReStore resale stores where they are sold to raise money used to build new homes. Since 2002, Habitat has been responsible for building over 1,000 new homes for those less fortunate.

The Go North Habitat for Humanity ReStore

Beltmann of Chicago is proud to be partnering with Go North Habitat for Humanity to assist with their ReStore resale store program. Through this program, they sell donated items such as appliances and furniture raising money for Habitat for Humanity to use in building new homes. Our part in this wonderful undertaking is to provide free transportation for donated goods and to ask our customers for donations of things they never use. If you choose to donate, your donations

  • Will help others in your community
  • Will be tax-deductible
  • Will help cut down on how much you are paying to transport

Over the years we have learned how to make donating easier for our customers:

  • It starts with a chat with your moving consultant about your wish to be a donor.
  • Next, you fill out a Go North Habitat Donation Inventory Form which you give to the moving team. This makes it easier for them to pack these items in separate boxes.
  • Our team will pack these items and transport them to the local ReStore and ensure you get a receipt for your taxes within less than 90 days.

The Gary Sinise Foundation

Shortly after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, Gary Sinise a well-known Hollywood actor (think Forrest Gump as in Lt. Dan) created a foundation intended to provide a wide range of helpful services to first responders, veterans, and their families.

One of these services is building custom automated homes for veterans with severe injuries designed to make things easier for them. Through the foundation’s R.I.S.E. or Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment, they are able to raise awareness and more donations for their various programs. Beltmann of Chicago provides free moving services to veterans who are moving into these custom-built homes.

Move for Hunger

The Move for Hunger organization works to provide the 17 million-plus children who go to bed without dinner every night. Beltmann of Chicago is proud to provide the transportation services needed to move donated non-perishable foods from donors to food pantries around the Greater Chicago area. As a recipient of the 2012 “Move For Hunger- North American Van Line Mover of the Year,” we also ask our customers to donate any non-perishable foods they don’t plan to take with them to their home.
