Milwaukee Living: The Most Popular Events This February

You might want to schedule your Milwaukee mover for early in February, because you won’t want to miss the events happening around town. Here are the most popular events you should attend:

ART Jamboree “ART of Design” is hosted by ART Milwaukee. This event will feature live creation of metal, wood, sculptor and ice projects by the artists of Flux Design, a business that utilizes artists for specialized interior and exterior custom design. Complementary appetizers will be served. There will be music, a DJ, a dance performance, live painting and other entertainment. February 3 from 8:00 – 11:45 pm at Flux Design.

La Pasion Flamenca at the South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center. Experience an eclectic evening of Spanish dance and music with emotional solos, fiery duets, and celebratory company dances. The emotions of the artists come through as they take you back to Andalusia, the southern region of Spain and the birthplace of flamenco. Go early for a pre-show talk with dancer Julia Chacon. February 4 at 7:30 pm.

Reinventing Radio: An Evening with Ira Glass at the Pabst Theater. This is a rare opportunity to learn more about the host and creator of NPR’s This American Life directly from Ira himself. He will discuss what makes a good story, and how he and his staff find great stories. February 4 at 7:00 pm.

Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts. This is a dramatic retelling of the amazing story of Harriet Tubman, her efforts to be free of slavery, and to free hundreds of other slaves. Learn more about Tubman’s life and character. February 6 at 10:00 am and 12:30 pm.

Isn’t It Romantic?: Love Songs from Vienna to Broadway by the Florentine Opera Company. Since it’s the season of love, take your special someone to this romantic concert of popular love songs. Performed in English, you will enjoy this tour through time beginning with love songs of the Viennese operettas and ending with modern music. February 10-12 at varying times.
