Keeping Your House Show-Ready

There is nothing more frustrating than the inability to sell your house. You might lower your asking price, make a few upgrades and include incentives. Don’t lose faith. Most homes on the market eventually sell, although it might take several months. In the meantime, do everything possible to keep your house “show-ready” at all times.

  • Hide clutter. This is a big problem in many households. There may not be enough storage space for your belongings. However, clutter can turn off potential buyers. Get a storage unit while you’re trying to sell your home and move some of your items to this location. This limits the amount of things in your house, thus helping to reduce clutter.
  • Keep the house clean. Regardless of whether you’re rushing in the mornings, make sure that your bedrooms and bathrooms are in good shape. A real estate agent may show the house at a moment’s notice, leaving little time to run home and tidy up. Clean and straighten up your living space each night before retiring, and don’t leave the house with dishes in the sink. Even if you’re just running to the store, make sure your home is always together.

Keeping your house “show ready” at all times can be a pain, but it can also help sell your home quicker. The sooner you get a bid, the sooner you can start looking for a new place and hire a Milwaukee mover to pack your house.
