Fall Fun in St. Paul: 4 Upcoming October Events

Children In Fancy Costume Dress Going Trick Or Treating

St. Paul is an energetic Minnesota city where you’ll find fabulous shopping and dining, culture around every corner, and plenty of seasonal events to enjoy. Fall is a great time to be in St. Paul, or even the Twin Cities in general for that matter — just take a look at some of the fun events that are happening in October:

Zoo Boo at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory — October 17-18, 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Get your family into the Halloween spirit by attending Zoo Boo at the Como Park Zoo. Appropriate for families with young children, this event features trick-or-treating, Halloween goodies and 200 costumed entertainers for an evening among the plants and animals that’s more fun than spooky. The zoo will be closing at 3 p.m. on the 17th in preparation for this event.

Science Night Jr.: Cats vs. Dogs — October 18 at 2 p.m.

Bring the kids to this fun, family-friendly event being held at the Fitzgerald Theater on E. Exchange Street. This interactive event uses arts, music and interviews to explore the differences between felines and canines. Kids will love having fun while they learn, and parents might learn a thing or two about our furry friends as well!

BareBones Puppet Halloween Extravaganza — Starts October 26

This amazing event features puppetry, music, dance and more. Created to honor and celebrate the changing of the seasons as well as the seasons of life, this event offers an alternative to consumer-based Halloween events and is appropriate for all ages. Although there is no admission fee, organizers suggest a $20 donation.

The Haunted Basement — Now through November 3

The Soap Factory in nearby Minneapolis is hosting The Haunted Basement now through November 3. This haunted house isn’t kid-friendly, but definitely ideal for adults seeking an interesting Halloween experience. Things can get messy during this heart-pumping tour, so make sure to bring a change of clothing! After your trip through the basement, head to the Spooky Speakeasy Bar for drinks on the weekends.
