The Best Neighborhoods in Milwaukee for Singles

Milwaukee Neighborhood

Milwaukee is known as “a Great Place on a Great Lake.” It has a small town atmosphere, but many of the perks of a big city. It boasts many neighborhoods that are great for singles. Before you pack up and call a Milwaukee mover, find out the best places to live.

Third Ward
The Third Ward is south of downtown between the Milwaukee River and Lake Michigan. It is made up of warehouse space turned to lofts. These industrial building spaces are inexpensive and ideal for renovation, and have attracted an artist crowd. This is now a center for art galleries as well as antiques and interior design stores. They have the “Gallery Night and Day” event held quarterly in which more than 50 venues are open to showcase their fine art, along with a little wine and cheese.
The Lower East Side
This neighborhood is full of singles and students, only 4.4% with children compared to the city average of 24.4%. Many people are renters. The Lower East Side is a center of entertainment, with Brady Street and North Avenue located in this neighborhood. Brady Street is an eclectic and up and coming shopping strip, with hippies and yuppies alike taking advantage of its amenities. North Avenue is frequented by twenty-somethings because of its entertainment fare. Many hip bars and restaurants are available, as well as stores such as American Apparel and Urban Outfitters.

Juneau Town
This neighborhood is pricier as it is sprinkled with new high-rise buildings and condos. The proximity to downtown is ideal for those wanting an urban lifestyle, but at the same time there is access to the lakefront for festivals, parks, and activities. You will find the Milwaukee Art Museum here, designed by Santiago Calatrava. Clubs like Three and Tangerine draw the younger crowd, while the symphony, opera, and ballet draw those with a love for the fine arts.

It may be difficult to decide on the destination you will give to your Milwaukee mover. With all these great choices, you’ll find that perfect place to call home.
