Creating Your Backyard Retreat

Beltmann Relocation Group

Now that spring is finally here, you might be looking to spend more time outdoors. Perhaps sitting on your patio to read a good book, firing up the grill to have cookout with your friends, or starting your own little garden to grow your own fruits and veggies. Your backyard holds so much potential, but sometimes breaking into that potential can be rough. After you make your relocation to Atlanta, you can now turn your yard into an outdoor retreat. Here are some ideas to help get you started.

Find Inspiration

As you flip through magazines or look online at sites like HGTV.com, make sure to tab or cut out picture of backyards you love to spend some time in. Make note of why you like the features. Do you fancy a fire pit, does a top of the line gas grill fall on your “must have” list, or do you simply like a lush garden feel? Go to your local gardening store and take a stroll through their flowers, patio sections, and take a peek at their displays. Sometimes the best inspiration strikes when you get to experience it. While you’re there, ask many questions to see how hard it might be to recreate something you see or have seen in a magazine or online.

Think About What You Do Most Outside

While you might really like the idea of some outdoor features, make sure your family will use the space. Keep in mind how everyone in your family might use your outdoor space, and come up with creative ideas on how everyone can have fun in your backyard.
