  1. Volunteer<\/strong>. It is always a good thing to step out and volunteer, but it can be a good way to meet people too. The Volunteer Center of Greater Milwaukee has a great website, www.volunteermilwaukee.org<\/a>, where you can search for experiences that match your interests and needs. You can select from one-time experiences to ongoing commitments. Visit with the elderly, mentor a child, help Habitat for Humanity<\/a>, or work at a food pantry. There are over 400 opportunities when you search within the Milwaukee area.<\/li>\n
  2. Join a club<\/strong>. Try the Milwaukee Cinema Club. This is one affiliate of a nationwide organization that views films before their release dates and discusses them after. This club meets at the Oriental Theater and is moderated by University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee professors Patrice Petro and Gilberto Blasini. See diverse films that wouldn\u2019t normally open in Milwaukee, and meet new people from all walks of life in a lively discussion about film.<\/li>\n
  3. Find a Meetup group. <\/strong>Meetup.com<\/a> is a great place to go to find people who have interests just like yours, and are meeting to share those interests. Meetup is the world\u2019s largest network of social groups. 250,000 monthly Meetups happen all over the nation, on 46,000 different topics. Join a writer\u2019s circle, a drum circle, a Zumba class, a book club, or a camping club. You can even start your own Meetup group.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
