beltman8As moving day approaches, it’s always a good idea to start planning your meals. Once you have your kitchen in boxes, you will have fewer options available. If you do not want to spend a ton of money on food during your moving – whether it’s a day or a week – planning snacks and meals will be key.

Here are some recipe ideas for non-refrigerated snacks that can be made early and packed easily.

Trail Mix

A traditional snack idea, but probably the easiest to make, most nutritional and easily stored – trail mix can come in a variety of forms made to fit your family’s preferences. Here are some of our favorite mixes – stretch your mind past the traditional pretzel, nut and M&M combos.

Dark Chocolate Coconut Protein Balls

Delicious and good for you – these protein balls are made with a natural sweetener (honey), chia seeds, almond butter, dark cocoa powder, coconut oil, coconut, protein powder (of course) and vanilla. Simple and easy to make, plus satisfying when you need a little pick-me-up at 3 PM.

Energy Bites

Energy will be an important thing to have on moving day, so consider making and packing these energy bites for the road. They include delicious ingredients like: rolled oats, sunflower seeds, banana chips, dried blueberries, cinnamon, chocolate chips, sunflower seed butter and agave nectar. Easy to throw together and roll into easy to eat snack balls – you might continue to make these even past moving day.
