Before traveling for the first couple of times, have your car checked out. <\/strong>Many people who live in the warm southern states have cars that haven\u2019t experienced the harsh winter elements. You\u2019ll want to take your car to a certified mechanic to make sure the antifreeze is filled, tires are properly inflated, and various other little adjustments to make sure your vehicle is ready to handle the snow and ice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Know directions to your location before you travel.<\/strong> There is nothing more dangerous than not knowing where you are going, but adding snow and ice to the equation can make a recipe for disaster. If you are on the road and get lost, pull over to a safe spot to get directions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Keep in mind to drive slow and steady.<\/strong> Don\u2019t drive so slow that you\u2019re more of a hazard than if driving at a normal speed, but don\u2019t race through traffic either.
